She split from her ex in 2016 and has endured a difficult battle surrounding custody and finances.

But Angelina Jolie looked to be in a jovial mood as she stopped for frozen yogurt with her 10-year-old son Knox in Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon.

Sources revealed exclusively to MailOnline that the 43-year-old actress is hoping to find an amicable resolution to her divorce from estranged husband Brad Pitt.

A source close to the star told MailOnline that Jolie's "anger is dissolving" and far from an emotional war being on the cards, she now wants to reach "a peaceful truce" with Brad - but only "if his side are keen."

The couple, who share six children, Maddox, 17, Pax, 14, Zahara, 13, Shiloh, 12; and twins Knox and Vivienne, 10 and wed in 2014, have watched their love affair unravel and turn increasingly acrimonious in recent months, as their respective legal teams prepare to go to battle over money and access to their children.

However, the humanitarian revealed that a new, healthier lifestyle is helping her take a more zen approach to the break-up.

Jolie made the shock announcement in September 2016 that she was filing for divorce from Pitt, and the superstar couple's separation has since descended into a media circus, something which has left her at her lowest ebb, both mentally and physically.

The source said: "If there's one thing the past couple of years has taught Angie, it's that money does not buy you happiness, it's your health that counts."

After rediscovering her love for martial arts, first fostered during her role as Lara Croft in the blockbuster Tomb Raider films, the actress has been taking daily boxing classes with a personal trainer in a bid to gain the energy she needs to ensure she stays fit and calm during negotiations.

"She looks great and it's lovely to see her putting her own health and that of the children before all the mess that's going on with Brad," the source said.
