Kiwi festival Bay Dreams is living up to its name, making rap fans' wildest dreams come true with the announcement of its new headliner: Cardi B.
Fans were hopeful the rap sensation might join the line-up when Migos was announced in the first line-up, as the rap trio features Offset, the father of Cardi B's new baby girl, Kulture.
And now Bay Dreams has confirmed the Bodak Yellow rapper will be here this summer, playing both of the festival's events in Mount Maunganui and Nelson.
This will be Cardi's first visit to New Zealand and she comes to us right when she's at the top of her game.
The Grammy-nominated artist is the first woman to have had five simultaneous Top 10 hits in the hip-hop/R&B charts.
She also broke records with her single Bodak Yellow, which hit number one on the Billboard charts and stayed there for five weeks, making her the first female rapper to do so since Lauryn Hill in 1998.
Cardi B joins an already talent-packed bill, which - along with Migos (playing The Mount only) - includes Shapeshifter, Tash Sultana, Sticky Fingers, Peking Duk, $uicideboy$, Macky Gee, Pnau, Katchafire and more.
Cardi will perform at Mount Maunganui's ASB Bay Park on January 2 and Nelson's Trafalgar Park on January 4. For tickets and info see Baydreams.co.nz
