Summer festival Splore has confirmed its first line-up of acts, including Sampa the Great and The Dub Pistols.
Other acts confirmed to perform at the three-day festival, which runs from February 17-19 at Tapapakanga Park south of Auckland, include The Ragga Twins, GL, Egyptian Lover, Tall Black Guy and Nickodemus.
Local acts performing at the festival include Pitch Black, Carnivorous Plant Society, Weird Together, Latinaotearoa, Yoko-Zuna, Villette, Frank Booker, Aroha, Greg Churchill, Dylan C, Dubhead and Selecta Sam.
Festival organiser John Minty has also confirmed the festival's theme of 'Strangely Familiar'.
"Splore festival-goers become part of the visual aesthetic," he says. "Saturday night at Splore is New Zealand's biggest costume party where dressing up allows people to take on their alter ego and become uninhibited, making for much conviviality whilst watching world class entertainment."
Minto says it's often the smaller things that make a festival experience
"The food always features in the research as being a highlight and of course the location is a great draw card - you just can't beat the Splore location, it's one of the most beautiful festival locations in the world."
