Turns out tweeting your favourite artists might not be such a bad way to get in touch with them - but if it's good enough for Sia, it's good enough for us.

The Australian singer/songwriter known for hits like Chandelier and Cheap Thrills, has taken to Twitter to reach out to rapper Drake in the hopes of organising a collaboration.

She wrote: "I'm trying to get in touch with you. I want to do something. Can you [direct message] me your person? Thanks!". She also signed off as: "Your fan, Sia".

Sia has written songs for a host of artists in the past, including Beyonce's Pretty Hurts, Ne-Yo's Let Me Love You, Rihanna's Diamonds, and more recently her Star Trek hit Sledgehammer.

And while her style is notably different to that of Drake - famed for hits like Hotline Bling, and Started From the Bottom - fans of the pair are already on board.

Drake has not yet responded publicly to Sia's tweet.
