"I joined Tinder and OkCupid briefly, but it's just not me, eh," he tells the magazine.
"And I've just got Bumble, but the only time I remember to check it is when I'm in South Carolina or Iowa, then I'm like, 'This is hopeless. Even if I find the girl of my dreams, I don't think I'll be commuting between Des Moines and Harlem."
The 29-year-old, who is back in the country filling in for Mike Hosking on Seven Sharp, admits he'd be a terrible boyfriend because he's "a workaholic".
As well as being TV One's US correspondent, he also hosts a Newstalk ZB show on Saturday mornings and pens a weekly column for the Herald on Sunday.
"My life is totally imbalanced," he admits. "Whether it's dating or friends, so many times I've had to cancel for work. It's a selfish life ..."
Earlier this year, Tame was named among ELLE.com's 41 Most Eligible Bachelors.
