The trailer for Disney's first film featuring a Pacific princess, Moana, has finally landed.
The short clip mostly features demigod Maui, played by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, as he attempts to impress Moana and her adorable pet pig with a haka-like performance.
The pair are unimpressed, prompting Maui to say "what's a demigod got to do?", setting a light, fun tone for the film.
Unlike many previous Disney princesses, Moana is the hero of her own story. The film follows Moana (Auli'i Cravalho) as she sails out on a mission to prove herself as a master navigator, and to fulfil an ancient quest.
Maui helps her in her journey through the Pacific Islands, which are beautifully designed for the animated film.
Moana is written by Kiwi filmmaker Taika Waititi, and New Zealand music group Te Vaka is helping create the soundtrack, led by composer and lead singer Opetaia Foa'i.
It is being directed by renowned film-making team Ron Clements and John Musker, who worked on The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, and The Princess and the Frog.
Moana is due to hit New Zealand cinemas on Boxing Day, this year.
