Amber Heard's neighbour has given a deposition to support allegations Johnny Depp abused her.

Raquel Rose Pennington has wrote to the court to allege the 52-year-old actor "slapped her hands away" when she broke up an argument between the former couple on May 21.

Writing in a document for court, she claims: "[I got a text message] asking me to come over to her condominium unit. When I opened the door, I saw Amber by the couch, covering her head with her arms and hands, as Johnny was loudly screaming at her. I ran over and stood in between Johnny and Amber, begging Johnny to stop yelling at her. I put my hands out in a defensive manner motioning him to stop. Johnny slapped my hands away and screamed foul obscenities at me."

Raquel - who has been friends with Amber for 13 years - went on the claim that the Pirates of the Caribbean actor then picked up a large bottle of wine and "began swinging it like a baseball bat" in order to smash "everything he could".

Following the incident, she says she brought Amber back to her home.

Meanwhile, Amber previously claimed she is living in fear of Johnny.

She said: "During the entirety of our relationship, Johnny has been verbally and physically abusive to me. I endured excessive emotional, verbal and physical abuse from Johnny, which has included angry, hostile, humiliating and threatening assaults to me whenever I questioned his authority or disagreed with him. I live in fear that Johnny will return to (our house) unannounced to terrorise me, physically and emotionally."

Amber, 30, was granted a temporary restraining order against Johnny after she claimed he threw his iPhone at her face on Saturday. However, police found no evidence of an assault when they responded to a domestic dispute that evening.

Johnny has denied the allegations made against him and his lawyer claims Amber is alleging abuse to "secure a premature financial resolution" and says the allegations are a response to negative media attention.

Laura Wasser appeared in court on Johnny's behalf on Friday as his estranged wife requested a temporary restraining order against him amid claims that the 52-year-old actor physically assaulted her but his lawyer hit out at the allegations.

In a written response to the court, she said the request for a restraining order "appears to be in response to the negative media attention she received earlier this week".

And in response to Amber's request for spousal support, Laura added: "Amber is a successful model and actress who earns her own income and is capable of supporting herself."

She also revealed that Johnny is working in Spain "for the next several weeks and will not return before June 7".

Johnny Depp has been ordered to stay 100 yards away from his estranged wife Amber Heard. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Carl H. Moor made the ruling on Friday and cautioned Johnny, 52, not to try to contact the actress after Amber, 30, alleged that she had been the victim of physical assault by her husband.

Amber, 30, said in a written declaration that she had "endured excessive emotional, verbal and physical abuse" during their 15-month marriage.

Despite granting the temporary order, which instructs Johnny to remain 100 yards away from his wife at all times, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Carl H. Moor rejected her request for Johnny to attend one year of anger management classes.

He also did not accept her request for the restraining order to extend to keeping the actor away from her Yorkshire terrier.

The pair are not thought to have put a pre-nuptial agreement in place before they wed in February 2015 in Los Angeles, followed by another ceremony in the Bahamas.

The former couple met on the set of 2011 film The Rum Diary.

Johnny previously divorced his first wife, make-up artist Lori Anne Allison, in 1985 after just two years of marriage and he split from French actress partner Vanessa Paradis - who he has daughter Lily-Rose, 16, and 13-year-old son Jack with - in 2012 after 14 years together.

Amber was in a three-year relationship with girlfriend Tasya van Ree until 2011.
