It’s NZ Music Month and the Herald has partnered with NZ On Screen to bring you a music video of a classic New Zealand song every day of the month. Today’s flashback is a 2005 favourite from Dave Dobbyn.

Today's Music Month Flashback is Welcome Home by Dave Dobbyn.

As if Dobbyn hadn't contributed enough unofficial New Zealand anthems in the early part of his long career, he delivered us another one in 2005 with this heart-warming tribute to the spirit of togetherness.

Director Tim Groenendaal's perfectly matched music video is a celebration of Aotearoa's immigration policies, while honouring the Tangata Whenua.

Fork lift drivers, bank tellers, dairy owners and Ahmed Zaoui lend weight to the central theme: "We come from everywhere. Speak peace and welcome home."
