The New Zealand-made children's TV show Thunderbirds Are Go has been renewed for a third series after enjoying strong ratings around the globe.
Produced by Pukeko Pictures in Wellington in conjunction with the United Kingdom's ITV Studios the show has had enormous success and has been sold to more than 40 countries.
Weta Workshop designed the series and produced the miniatures.
Pukeko Pictures chief executive Clive Spink says the show is looking forward to another busy year with upcoming launches in the United States, the United Kingdom and Germany on Amazon Prime.
"We are absolutely thrilled a third series of Thunderbirds Are Go has been recommissioned by CITV and to begin working on the production with our partners ITV Studios," he said on Wednesday.
"We are incredibly proud of the success of Thunderbirds Are Go locally and internationally - the television series continues to do very well and as a licensing brand it is a strong performer."
Thunderbirds Are Go was the best-watched children's show on New Zealand television in 2015 while also enjoying strong ratings on channels in Australia, the Netherlands and Canada.
