A week after attending the Golden Globes, The Hateful Eight director Quentin Tarantino and stuntwoman-turned-actress for the movie, Zoe Bell, will hit the red carpet at Newmarket's Event Cinema on Wednesday.
The legendary director and his favourite action muse are set to light up the town for his short visit, fresh after the film's Australian junket, where the movie's stars Kurt Russell and Samuel L Jackson were in attendance. Will they come to New Zealand? Organisers would not confirm, but did say several overseas actors would be attending.
Bell was one of the Oscar-winning filmmaker's guests when Tarantino got his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame last month. Might she take him to Waiheke, the island she hails from?
Organisers would only tell Spy he is here for a very short time and many restaurants had offered to host the stars.
The premiere is in two parts.
Early in the afternoon it is hoped Tarantino and Bell will privately officiate at a launch in one of Auckland's coolest bars, Golden Dawn in Ponsonby, which is being transformed into a Wyoming cabin in post-civil war America, where most of Tarantino's eighth and latest film is based.
The scene at the bar will be open to the public for eight days.
Hallertau Brewery and film distributors Roadshow Films have produced a limited edition beer - The Hateful Eight beer, sold only through the Golden Dawn Tavern.
Then, at 5.30pm, Auckland's finest will get their fandom on.
We are told the guest list includes several All Blacks, renowned New Zealand musicians and actors, fashion designers, New Zealand-based film directors, producers and artists.
Dominic Bowden, Sam Cane, Ben Barrington, David Dallas and Bic and Boh Runga are tipped to walk the carpet with Tarantino and Bell.
There will be a fan zone inside the cinema, which will allow some lucky fans to catch a glimpse of their Pulp Fiction hero.
