Game of Thrones

will reportedly delve into the past during the upcoming season of the hit HBO series.

The show based on George RR Martin's bestselling series has shied away from using flashbacks in the past, but Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Game of Thrones will feature one in season five.

At this point the flashback is expected to be the opening scene of the very first episode.

GOT showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss apparently revealed there would be a flashback during a recent Q&A with film students in Spain.

EW roughly translated one of the producer's quotes from a Spanish website and have confirmed there will be just one flashback.

"By making the first season, we set a rule: No prophecies, dreams or flashbacks. We failed the first two and this season the third. So yes, this season will finally have flashbacks," one of the producer's said.
