KEY POINTS:
Pop group No Doubt are to reform and tour in 2009 as they put the finishing touches to a new studio album.
The popular 90s band - which kick-started Gwen Stefani's career before she became a solo artist - posted a photo of themselves on their website www.nodoubt.com and announced it was time to tour again during an online chat.
Gwen - who recently gave birth to her second child with husband Gavin
Rossdale - said: "I don't think we should wait. Pack up the babies and get a bunch of nannies. So fun! Would be so inspiring to get out there and play all those songs again."
Bassist Tony Kanal added: "We need to play. It's been too long. I feel like it's time for some rock and roll."
The group - who had hits including Don't Speak, Just A Girl and It's My Life - reunited briefly last year at one of Gwen's concerts in California.
Tony - along with drummer Adrian Young and guitarist Tom Dumont - began
working on new material earlier this year.
