THE OTHER BOLEYN GIRLS
Not to be confused with the recent movie starring Scarlett Johansson, this BBC telefilm is, however, also based on the book of the same name by Philippa Gregory. It's the lesser-known story of Anne Boleyn's sister Mary, who was Henry VIII's mistress before he married her sister. Loosely based on fact, this drama is filled with politics, passion and greed, and features Natascha McElhone (Californication) as Mary, a lady-in-waiting to Katherine of Aragon (Yolanda Vasquez). She is happily married to Henry VIII's courtier William Carey (Anthony Howell) but when she catches the King's eye, her power-hungry family pushes her to become his mistress. Despite her misgivings, Mary falls in love with the young King (Jared Harris) and bears him a son. But when his eye begins to wander, Anne (Jodhi May) steps forward to seduce the King and manoeuvre herself into becoming Queen.

MEET THE FOCKERS
Herald Rating: * * *
More a retread than a sequel to Meet The Parents, with the addition of Dustin Hoffman and Barbra Streisand as Gaylord's (Ben Stiller) parents. These two very liberal, free-thinking ex-hippies, are at odds with Gaylord's soon to be father-in-law, ex-CIA operative Jack Byrnes (Robert De Niro). Expect the usual toilet humour - this time it's literal. (2004)
