An extended trailer for Star Trek Into Darkness has been released. It begins with a voiceover admonishing Captain Kirk for his arrogance and warning him it will one day lead to the deaths of everyone under his command before transitioning into snapshots of scenes of destruction.
The trailer has increased speculation the new film will be linked to famed Star Trek film The Wrath of Khan by ending with a direct quote from the earlier movie: "Is there anything you would not do for your family?"
Star Trek Into Darkness is set for release in May next year. It co-stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto and Zoe Saldana and is directed by JJ Abrams.

It ends with Benedict Cumberbatch delivering a direct quote from The Wrath of Khan: "Is there anything you would not do for your family?"
Movie sites Totalfilm and Movieline say the line adds to speculation Into Darkness will be a quasi-remake of Khan.
Cumberbatch's character John Harrison is thought to be linked to the tyrant villain from the earlier film.
