"The Flight of the Conchords were initially approached to play a small part in the show, much like many others, but they immediately wanted to do more and offered to write the song," said Cure Kids spokeswoman Hayley McLarin.
"It is heart-warming and funny. It will make you laugh and cry."
Kiwi musicians Dave Dobbyn, Anika Moa, Savage, Elizabeth Marvelly, PNC, Boh Runga, Zowie, Nathan King, Peter Urlich and Brooke Fraser all feature in the song.
The Conchords haven't released any new material since their 2009 album I Told You I Was Freaky, which compiled songs from the band's hit HBO show, which ran for 22 episodes over two seasons. They recently completed a comprehensive New Zealand tour.
Their fictional manager Murray, played by comedian Rhys Darby, also appears in the hilarious footage preceding the video.
