The Inbetweeners is set to return on Netflix.
The hit TV show originally aired on Britain’s Channel 4, but the streaming giant is now keen to revive the show, with a multimillion-pound deal being finalised for a movie.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Inbetweeners fans will be thrilled andrelieved because when talk of a reboot emerged last year there were fears it might not turn out to be a telly project.
“But this deal will mean the comedy will be back on our television screens for the first time in 16 years, even though it won’t be in its original home on Channel 4.”
Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, James Buckley and Blake Harrison starred in the show’s original run, and they’ve previously expressed an interest in reviving their characters.

Netflix is confident it can make The Inbetweeners a worldwide hit, too.
The insider shared: “Netflix have been keen to make the project happen partly because it’s enjoyed a bit of a renaissance since old episodes aired on the streaming service and introduced a whole new generation to the show.
“Now, The Inbetweeners is set to go international, with the streaming service taking the comedy to households around the globe.
“The deal is on the cusp of being fully rubber stamped, with discussions still happening about production timelines, storylines and cast.”
Buckley previously doubted whether he would star in another show as big as The Inbetweeners.
The 38-year-old actor played foul-mouthed teenager Jay Cartwright in the sitcom, but did not expect to rediscover similar success elsewhere during his career.

Speaking on his At Home with the Buckleys YouTube channel, Buckley said: “There’s a reason why people have such longevity, such long careers, they’re really, really good at what they do.
“That’s probably why my career was quite short. It’s nice to have a day in the sun. Do you remember The Inbetweeners?”
