It's the controversial teen-suicide drama that saw an average of 6.08 million viewers in the US in its first three days of release.
And following a great reception, Netflix announced on Wednesday that 13 Reasons Why would return for a third season in 2019, according to the DailyMail.
Taking to the official Instagram page, producers posted a short clip of someone opening a school locker with the passcode: 20-1-9, before removing a lunch bag.
"What happens now? Season 3 of #13ReasonsWhy is coming," they captioned.
The second season of the series executively produced by Selena Gomez that was released last week, sees the stars having to deal with the fallout of protagonist Hannah Baker's suicide.
Hannah's (Katherine Langford) parents sue Liberty High School for negligence which sees many of the students on the stand and opening up about the events surrounding her the lead-up to her death.
The series also delves into student Tyler Down's (Devin Druid) graphic and controversial rape scene that saw him sodomised with a mop handle by Montgomery de la Cruz (Timonthy Grandaderos).
After many were left with complete disgust over the scene, Devin justified the confronting nature stating that they felt it was their responsibility to not "sugarcoat" or "censor" the reality of assault.
Season three will see show creator Brian Yorkey will continue to lead the series with Selena also joined by fellow executive producers: Joy Gorman, Tom McCarthy, Kristel Laiblin, Steve Golin, and her mom Mandy Teefey.
Following in the footsteps of its other two seasons, season three will also have 13 episodes.
And while fans were quick to share their excitement over the news, late last month, Katherine hinted that season two would be the end of Hannah.
"Hannah...I love you...and I let you go" Those are the words I was able to say six months ago, and now can finally share with you...As most of you know,' she captioned an Instagram photo of chalkboard with tribute messages for the deceased character.
"@13reasonswhy was my first ever job and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to tell Hannah's story so fully in season 1, and to be asked back for a season 2."
"Thankyou to @netflix @paramountpics @anoncontent, the incredible producers, creatives, cast and crew for making these last 2 years so special," she continued the lengthy post.
The Australian actress went on to say that she had a lot of other projects in the work and the show will always be a special part of her life.
Season two of 13 Reasons Why is available for viewing worldwide on Netflix, with season three set to begin filming later this year ahead of its 2019 release.
