My Kitchen Rules NZ sisters Katrina Dunlop and Natasha Gorrie came under fire for being 'snobs', now it has been revealed Katrina was involved with x-rated photo shoots in the past.

Pretty, petite My Kitchen Rules contestant Katrina Dunlop has a sexy secret.

The busy stay-at-home mum of two and actress was open about her past working as a model, but failed to disclose some of the raunchier jobs in her past, Fairfax NZ reports.

The 27-year-old brunette was snapped in hundreds of photos for "hardcore porn" magazine NZX about seven years ago when she needed extra funds.

Having bought a house at the age of 20, she was strapped for cash and took the job.

She did three saucy porn shoots, at various Auckland locations under the name K*Leigh, posing alongside another woman in a beach setting, Fairfax reported.

It is understood TVNZ did not know about the photographs until late last week and don't screen for such things when interviewing contestants.

Katrina, who is competing on MKR NZ with her sister Natasha, was immediately labelled a snob by fellow contestants.

A spokeswoman said she hoped people would still support the girls who are set to host their instant restaurant this Tuesday.

The Remuera pair made their show debut last week and were straight into the eye rolling and whispered mutterings about their rivals.

Spy caught up with the siblings, who denied the title.

"We are definitely not snobs. In fact, far from it!" Katrina said.

Previously a woman convicted of fraud ended up on The Bachelor NZ, and there was outrage on The X Factor when a man convicted of manslaughter took the stage.
