Motorstorm (PS3)

Pros: Fantastic game physics give great variety to how buggies, bikes and trucks handle the desert terrain. It's visually impressive - the crashes are always spectacular.

Cons: The touchy turbo boost prevents all-out, Ridge Racer-style racing. Sony's Six Axis controller isn't great for steering given the throttling pace of the game.

Verdict: It's Mad Max meets Burnout Revenge in Monument Valley and the result is a sophisticated racing game that showcases just what the PS3 is capable of.
