Rage Against The Machine's Tom Morello is to join Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band on the Australian leg of their Wrecking Ball tour.
The versatile guitarist is set to fill in for Steve Van Zandt who is committed to an acting role in the TV series Lillyhammer.
VanZandt, who is best known beyond the band for playing Silvio Dante in hit drama The Sopranos, is expected to re-join in April when the tour continues in Europe.
Morello is no stranger to performing as a stand-in for The Boss and performed on two tracks on last year's Wrecking Ball album.
He will join Patti Scialfa, Garry Tallent, Roy Bittan, Max Weinberg and Nils Lofgren in the world famous backing band when Springsteen performs his first Australian shows in a decade in March.
Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band will perform 10 shows.
