Charles, who became CoverGirl's first male spokesmodel earlier this year, then saw his negative commentary go viral.
So he deleted the tweets and recorded and posted a two-minute apology video to his 292,000 Twitter followers from an Uber.
In his confusing statement, he insisted that he didn't mean to give the film a negative review and he actually really enjoyed it - but still continued his criticism.
"I tweeted that it was awful. It was the social media exaggerator coming out in me. It was rude and obnoxious and I'm apologising for it because that was wrong," he said.
But he said he was still "personally disappointed" in It because there weren't enough jump scares in the film.

After more negative feedback, Charles later tweeted that "the internet is the meanest" and said his job "isn't fun anymore".
It was made for a budget of US$35 million but broke records to become the biggest box office debut for a horror in history, raking in US$123 million.
It is a remake of a 1980 mini-series, which was based on the Stephen King novel. A sequel is due out in 2019.
