British actress/singer Minnie Driver has brushed off criticism of her performance at a Los Angeles Dodgers baseball game after flubbing the lyrics to the US national anthem.
The Good Will Hunting star was invited to belt out The Star-Spangled Banner before the Dodgers faced off against the St Louis Cardinalsat Dodger Stadium, but she came under fire on social media after messing up the words in two parts of the song, even though the lyrics were prominently displayed on a giant scoreboard.
Driver shrugged off the backlash in a series of posts on Twitter.
Gosh,I sang 'hailed' instead of 'watched' during the Nat Anthem last night. What can I say? I am an imperfect human being. I think that's ok.
Driver, who lives in Los Angeles with her young son Henry, also admitted the gig was "totally nerve wracking but amazing".
The 45 year old is the latest celebrity to botch The Star-Spangled Banner - Christina Aguilera, Cyndi Lauper, and James Taylor have also famously flubbed the lyrics to the national anthem in previous years.
