Miley Cyrus is retiring her tongue.
The pop starlet is famed for sticking out her tongue in photos and on stage, but is getting bored with striking a rock 'n' roll pose and is planning to come up with a new look.
Speaking on French TV show Le Grand Journal,she said: "It's the new Miley tongue. I think people always take pictures of themselves and me doing it is just being myself so it's kind of like my style now ... [But] that's getting a little old. I'm going to have to retire it!"
Although Cyrus has an impressively long tongue, she revealed she can't touch her nose with it, no matter how hard she tries.
She lamented: "For as long as it is, you would think that I could touch my nose. I mean I've tried it, I can't, I'm so close. I wish I had more control of it, I can't do any tricks, no four leaf clover, nothing!"
The We Can't Stop singer also touched upon her provocative MTV Video Music Awards appearance last month, which sent the twittosphere into a spin with 4.5 million people chiming in online about her risque performance, which saw her grinding and twerking up against Robin Thicke and wagging her tongue.
She laughed: "I just think if you make the choice to do something in front of the world, there's no going back and apologising now.
"I already did it, there's no going backwards. I do everything I do for a reason. My mum is very proud of me!"
Former Hannah Montana star, 20, explained she has sexed up her image in order to attract the world's attention and make an impact.
She said: "I wanted to make history which I think we did over the last two weeks ... I think all that matters is having good intentions. [The VMAs video] did do well online, everyone in the world is thinking what am I going to do next.
"All eyes are on me and I'll do what I wanna do so people remember me. It's bittersweet."
