Can't Be Tamed singer Miley Cyrus has stirred up more controversy with the release of a steamy new video.

A parents advocacy group in the US has blasted Cyrus' "sexualised" music video for her single

Who Owns My Heart

, branding it "unfortunate" and accusing the singer of turning her back on young fans.

The sexually-charged video, released on Friday, shows the singer waking up blindfolded and writhing on a bed, while saucily singing to the camera, "dancing on the floor with you...I feel you pumping through my veins," before primping up for a night on the town.

Yep, it's another writhe 'n grind vamp-fest from the teen warbler.

"It's just about freeing yourself from anything you think is holding you back,"

she recently told

MTV.com about the track.

She added: "And I think that's really important, especially for girls, because so many people are told, 'No, you can't do something,' or, 'You need to be this because Mom and Dad say that, teachers say this.'"

Needless to say the promo's raised eyebrows and invited finger-wagging from the peanut gallery.

Tim Winter of the Parents Television Council watchdog group has condemned the video and the message it sends to Cyrus' fans.

"It is unfortunate that she would participate in such a sexualised video like this one, Winters told TMZ.

"It sends messages to her fanbase that are diametrically opposed to everything she has done up to this point. Miley built her fame and fortune entirely on the backs of young girls, and it saddens us that she seems so eager to distance herself from that fanbase so rapidly."

It's not the first time that Cyrus has experienced 'growing pains'.

The former Disney darling came under fire last year for her brand-busting

Can't Be Tamed

video. And she spared no-one's blushes when she performed the track at the 2010 Much Music Video Awards in a revealing, flesh-flashing white bodice. So revealing, she almost exposed herself.

The thing with Cyrus is that while she desperately wants to shed her vanilla

image, and continues to push the envelope in her steamy videos, people have trouble buying it.

For the majority, she'll always be

Hannah Montana

, even when she's come of age, put a ring on it and pushing an army of prams.

There's been no word from Cyrus' camp about the latest video stink, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Hitting back at critics who condemned her new image earlier this year, Cyrus remained defiant.

"I don't really listen to criticism because if you don't want to watch my video you can always turn it off," she told

Ok!

magazine.

"Or if you don't want to listen to my music you don't have to... So I've never been one to really care about what people think, because I'm the artist and that's the art that I'm doing."

What do you make of the fuss about Cyrus' new video? A bunch of old prudes getting their feathers ruffled over nothing? Or is the pop starlet being overtly sexual as she sheds her Disney image?
