Miley Cyrus has shown her love for both Australia and her on-again-off-again fiance Liam Hemsworth by getting a jar of Vegemite tattooed on her arm.

The 23-year-old singer had the Aussie-themed tribute inked on the back of her left arm over the weekend by LA tattoo artist Dr Woo.

"@mileycyrus don't play when it comes to #vegemite," the artist captioned a snap of Cyrus showing off the tattoo.

While it may seem like an odd declaration of her love for Hemsworth, it's no secret the Independence Day: Resurgence star is a fan of the salty spread.

He told Sunday Style last month his favourite after-school snack while growing up was: "After-school Milo and Vegemite on toast, I lived on it."
