Miley Cyrus hasn't quite moved in with actor Liam Hemsworth, but she is only one door stop away from her beau.

The American singer was spotted with removalist trucks outside her home in recent weeks, prompting fans to believe an apparent rekindled romance with the hunky Hunger Games actor.

However TMZ reports, Cyrus hasn't unpacked her bags at the Hemsworth residence, instead spending $US2.5million (NZD$3.7 million) to buy the Malibu home, approximately 0.3 kilometres away.

The star reportedly purchased the new pad, that lines up directly to Hemsworth's driveway, with plans to expand and build their own compound.

According to TMZ, Hemsworth's place was becoming slightly overcrowded with Aussie pals, leaving little room for Miley and her five dogs.

The house is reportedly a luxurious 420 square metres and is set on a quiet block in the oceanside Ramirez Canyon community.
