Canadian crooner Michael Buble is baffled by the success of Psy, insisting the South Korean pop star's new single lacks any real musical talent.
The Home singer tuned into a clip from Psy's new video, in which he dresses up as his ageing father and shows off a bizarre newdance routine, during an appearance on US breakfast show Today .
Buble made it known he is not a fan.
"Honestly, this just makes me really sad," Buble, 40, said after viewing the promo.
"I don't wanna live in this world anymore... If this is what we have to look forward to at the Grammys next year, I'm out... I'm sorry..."I like to dance to (Psy's hit Gangnam Style), but I don't understand anymore. Maybe I'm just over the hill or something, but I don't get it anymore."
Buble then went on to mock Psy's latest track by spitting a fast-paced beat and quipping, "Oh gee, I got a number one hit, there we go! Now let me just do some weird dance move, eight million views, boom!"
The musician continued to explain his stance, claiming he admires the talent of singers like Brit Adele, even though he won't necessarily call himself a fan.
"Listen... I'm a guy," he said. "Do I go home and listen to Adele in a bubble bath? Yes, I do! No, I don't, but I get it. It's musical and it's beautiful and there's talent and great songwriting. But, [quoting Psy's lyrics], 'My Daddy/boom boom boom' [isn't]."
Gangnam Style became the first YouTube promo to hit one billion views following its release in 2012, while it remains the website's most-watched video with over 2.46 billion hits.
