Margot Robbie 'favourite' to be next Bond girl

She's one of the most popular young actresses in Hollywood at the moment - so it's no surprise Margot Robbie is reportedly the hot favourite to be the next Bond girl.

Online bookies have revealed the 26-year-old Aussie is the frontrunner to land the role in the long-running James Bond franchise, with the odds at 12/1 - ahead of Emily Blunt's 16/1.

Trailing behind Robbie and Blunt on the Paddy Power rankings is actress Emily Ratajkowski on 22/1 and Emma Watson at 40/1.

Daniel Craig is still yet to officially announce his retirement as James Bond.

It's been one of the most coveted film characters for decades, with Eva Green, Halle Berry, Denise Richards and Rosamund Pike all playing the powerful female alongside the 007 agent in recent years.

Currently, Taylor Swift's beau Tom Hiddleston is among those tipped to replace Craig, along with Idris Elba, Tom Hardy, Henry Cavill and Aidan Turner.

There's also rumours swirling producers of the franchise are considering a female Bond - which could see Robbie cast in the lead.

It's been a rapid ascent to stardom for the Tarzan actress, who got her big break in 2013, playing opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in Martin Scorsese's Wolf Of Wall Street.

She'll next appear in Suicide Squad playing Harley Quinn alongside Will Smith, Cara Delevingne and Jared Leto, in cinemas August 4.
