Madonna world tour document 'faked'

A list of upcoming world tour dates by Madonna that begins in New Zealand in March is fake, according to the pop star's publicist.

Fan website drownedinsound.com yesterday posted what it said was a leaked tour itinerary for the chart-topping singer for a world tour that target="_blank">begins in Auckland on March 31 at Mt Smart Stadium.

But Madonna's publicist Liz Rosenberg told Billboard the document, which was printed with what appeared to be an offical Live Nation logo, is "fake".

What makes the news worse for Madonna fans, who have never seen their idol perform in New Zealand, is that Mt Smart Stadium hasn't been booked on March 31.

Drownedinsound said it was one of several venues they had contacted that hadn't been booked for the alleged tour.

Madonna, 53, hasn't released an album since 2008's Hard Candy but is reportedly back in the studio, with a new single due out in the new year.
