Madonna has taken inspiration from Katy Perry by posing naked on social media in order to encourage American citizens to vote in the forthcoming presidential election.
The 58-year-old icon shared a topless selfie on her Instagram and Twitter pages one day after Perry appeared in the nude in a viralvideo as she attempted to "change the world".

While Perry attempted to boost the number of people registering to vote in the election - which will see Republican candidate Donald Trump go up against the Democratic Party's Hillary Clinton - Madonna used her posts to back one person in particular.
She wrote: "Living For Hillary. Yes I vote for intelligence. I vote for equal rights for women and all minorities.
"Women Run the World now they have to get out and start supporting one another. No more misogynist feminists! No more mysogony. Get out and Vote (sic)."
It comes as Madonna celebrated the 11th birthday of son, David, last week complete with a Donald Trump pinata.
Perry, who is also a prominent Clinton supporter, kickstarted the unofficial naked movement with her video, posted on comedy website Funny Or Die on Tuesday.
The 31-year-old star explained that she wanted to use her body as "click bait" in order to get people to polls ahead of the election on November 8th.
