John Hamm says playing womanising ad man Don Draper in Mad Men took its toll on him.
Jon Hamm says playing alcoholic, womaniser Don Draper on the hit TV series Mad Men took a toll on him.
The actor also says he went through a grieving process after the show finished its seven-year run.
The actor's publicist has confirmed Hamm recently "completed treatment for his struggle with
alcohol addiction".
"It takes an emotional toll especially when you are playing someone with a lot of emotions," Hamm, 44, told reporters in Beverly Hills.
The role of chauvinistic, 1960s ad man Draper catapulted Hamm from a struggling actor into one of Hollywood's A-List leading men.
