Xena: Warrior Princess might be making a comeback, according to its Kiwi star Lucy Lawless.
The actress, who played Xena during the show's six season run, sparked rumours the cult series was being resurrected in a post on Twitter late last week.
"Had an interesting call from a chap who wants to re-invigorate the #Xena brand. You guys may have started something," she said.
The post was retweeted 613 times.
However, Lawless later warned there was "a lot of red tape" obstructing the possible Xena revival.
"It may come back in a different form."
Xena: Warrior Princess was a spin-off from Hercules: The Legendary Journeys. It ran between 1995 and 2001.
The show was shot in New Zealand and featured guest roles from Kiwi actors including Karl Urban and Martin Csokas.
