Lorde reveals first Hunger Games track title

Lorde has revealed the title of her single from the new Hunger Games soundtrack, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1.

Lorde was chosen to curate the soundtrack to the hotly anticipated blockbuster and pen the first single on the album.

On Tuesday, she revealed, via Twitter, the song is titled Yellow Flicker Beat.

The single is set to drop on September 29, if the Twitter post is any indication.

"SEPTEMBER 29," the post, which is accompanied with an Instagram pic of the single's artwork, reads.

In August, Lorde spoke about the opportunity to curate the soundrtack, saying it was an exciting challenge.

"Curating the soundtrack for such a hotly-anticipated film was a challenge but I jumped at the chance," she said in a press release.

"I think the soundtrack is definitely going to surprise people."

Director Francis Lawrence described what Lorde had done as "truly remarkable" and said her song completely captured the film's essence.

The movie, starring fan favourite Jennifer Lawrence and Australian actor Liam Hemsworth, is the third in the Hunger Games series and is due to come out in November.
