Lorde imitates her own South Park song

Lorde has already voiced her approval of South Park's parody of her, and now the Kiwi star has sung her bewitching new fictional single, I Am Lorde Ya Ya Ya.

Lorde has featured in two South Park episodes this month, the first during which Stan's middle-aged, moustachioed, beer-bellied dad Randy Marsh dressed up as her to perform at an all-you-can-eat pizza party.

During an interview with New Zealand's TV3 network on Monday, the 17-year-old Auckland-born singer did her own rendition of the stirring song.

"I was thinking, 'Yeah he has a moustache. I mean I have a moustache, but is it that prominent?' But it was someone's dad pretending to be me," Lorde said.

"We actually, in my hotel room, went 'Ya ya ya, I am Lorde, Ya ya ya' for like an hour, because that's what they do on the episode."

In the second episode, which aired over the weekend, it's uncovered that Randy started posing as Lorde just to use the women's bathrooms.

However, he then started using his time on the toilet to write songs and it spiralled from there.

After it aired, Lorde tweeted: "I don't actually watch south park but from what i can tell sia was involved and someone's mum said something really nice about me.. score!"

She also posted three short clips of the episode to her Instagram account, commenting: "this is actually surprisingly cute - and from what i can tell also has a message of transgender acceptance (i'm still very new with this type of humour so i'm not sure if it was actually genuine but it seemed so to me".
