As the music industry's best and brightest gathered for yesterday's Grammy Awards, one superstar was notably absent, choosing instead to watch the spectacle from her Auckland home.

New Zealand songstress Lorde, who, last year, scooped best pop solo performance for Royals at the awards, tweeted about the ceremony at Los Angeles' Staples Centre while appearing to enjoy a bowl of feijoa yoghurt at home.

She also tweeted about Kanye West, who performed his new song Only One about his late mother on a nearly pitch-black stage at the awards ceremony.

won in two award categories - including best song written for visual media for the catchy

Let It Go

song.

The three sisters from Haim - Este Haim in Chloé, Danielle Haim in Stella McCartney, and Alana Haim in Stella McCartney - are low-key lovely.
Angelique Kidjo looks awesome in this bold print dress with matching headscarf.
A sleek and sexy look from Jessie J, wearing Ralph & Russo - with an earful of rad accessories, dark red pout and slick side part.
She's a model so it's her job to look like a megababe, but once again Chrissy Teigen, in Gucci, kills it this awards season. John Legend, wearing Dolce & Gabbana, must be stoked.
Another lady rocking white is Carolyn Malachi, the simple suit makes an impact because of the way this woman carries herself, and that perfect red lip.
At 45-years-old Gwen Stefani is rocking this Atelier Versace jumpsuit.
Jhene Aiko looks a dream in this strapless dusty pink Alberta Ferretti dress, showing off the nautical ink on her toned shoulder.
Katy Perry looks glam in Zuhair Murad, but keeps it edgy with her tousled aubergine mane.
Rihanna made a grand late entrance in a spectacular blushing pink Giambattista Valli gown, plucked straight off last week's haute couture show in Paris. It's dramatic and we love it.
Firstly we love that Kim K has chopped off her locks and joined the lob alliance. She has picked a very OTT Jean Paul Gaultier gown for the Grammy Awards, and for this event, we are digging it.
Not everyone in the office is digging Iggy Azalea. But we reckon the Aussie's crown of thorns hair looks regal with the figure hugging royal blue Armani Prive dress.
It's T-Swift's perfect pins that take this asymmetric Elie Saab dress to the next level. The shiny aqua fabric isn't something we'd usually pick, but with the unlikely choice of magenta heel persuade us to kind of dig it.
Rita Ora looks like the best mirrored disco ball we've seen in a while. That platinum pixie cut looks awesome.
