Lorde is getting abused by outraged Miley Cyrus fans after topping the iTunes charts in the US.
The 16-year-old Kiwi star's hit song Royals beat out Roar by Katy Perry and Wrecking Ball by Cyrus for the number one spot this morning.
She tweeted that the only downside of topping the chart was receiving abuse from deranged Cyrus fans.
wo #1 on US itunes. even if it lasts an hour i feel HAPPY. downside is all these miley fans telling me they're gonna stab my rotting corpse
Lorde went on to retweet several angry Cyrus fans.
Fan account @wethinkmiley told her to commit suicide.
Others just criticised her appearance - and she was also confused for being Australian.
@lordemusic kill yourself you crusty old hag
@lordemusic your eyes are too far apart
But seriously this Lorde girl should go back to eating vegemite and playing with kangaroos instead of threatening my favorites.
Royals has sat at number three on the Billboard top 100 in the US for the last two weeks.
Wrecking Ball is at number one this week, while Roar dropped to number two.
However, Lorde's dominance on iTunes may be a sign that her chart position will soon be shifting up.
