Pharrell also posted about Rogers on Twitter, writing: "Maggie Rogers, you have a unique gift, and I can't wait to watch you soar."
Rogers, a student at university's Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music, explained that her musical background was as a banjo player creating folk music, but after studying abroad her life changed when she had a "spiritual experience" with dance music in France.
