Spin-offs and a sequel for The Lego Movie now have release dates.
The wild adventures of small plastic toys will be returning to the big screen starting in 2017.
Warner Bros. has announced premiere dates for two spinoffs and a sequel to 2014's The Lego Movie.
Lego Batman, Lego Ninjago, and The Lego Movie Sequel are officially set to follow the animatedhit based on the popular toy brand.
"We are very excited about dating our upcoming LEGO animated features," Warner Bros. domestic distribution president Dan Fellman said in a statement.
"These three films already in the pipeline are just the beginning of a creative and diverse animation slate that will be delighting audiences for years to come."
Lego Ninjago will follow on September 22, 2017, introducing a major ninja story to the franchise.
Although this spinoff will use the same basic story as the already existing Lego Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitzu TV series, a new take has been promised that will diverge from the television show.
Finally, the direct sequel to The Lego Movie will be released on May 18, 2018.
The first Lego Movie was a surprise hit for Warner Bros., earning more than $250 million in the United States, plus another $211 million worldwide.
Chris Pratt, Will Ferrell, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Liam Neeson, Morgan Freeman, and more top actors provided voices for the animated film.
Additionally, the movie's catchy song, Everything Is Awesome, was nominated for Best Original Song at the 2015 Academy Awards.
