Former NBA basketballer Lamar Odom will move to a rehab facility in the coming days as the next step in his recovery.

The 36-year-old basketball star has been recovering in Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles since being found unconscious in a Nevada brothel following an alcohol and drugs binge and is set to move to rehab soon.

told PEOPLE: "The plan is for him to move in the next few days. At the facility, Lamar will continue to receive amazing therapy. He still has many challenges but is making progress. He is a fighter!"
Meanwhile, Lamar spent Christmas with his children Lamar Jr., 13, and 17-year-old Destiny.
A source said: "Lamar is doing way better. He was so happy the kids were there with him for Christmas and they were so happy to be with him. The kids were happy ... to bring him gifts, all things he loved. They had so much fun. It was very emotional and very happy."
