Lady Gaga throws gory pool party for American Horror Story co-stars

Lady Gaga has made quite a first impression on her new American Horror Story: Hotel co-stars by throwing a 'blood'-filled pool party at her Los Angeles home.

The Born This Way hitmaker is among the newcomers joining the cast for the latest instalment of the US TV thriller franchise.

She hosted a bash for her co-workers and took to Instagram to share snaps of her gory set-up.

In one photo, the singer showed off her backyard pool, full of dyed red water and wrote the caption, "A bloody pool for the cast, sorry #AHSfans, there's few pictures. At my parties, killer friends have more fun, when no evidence is left behind."

Additional photos showed off Gaga's crystal chandelier adorned with red roses, a golden bust of a crying woman, and one of the hostess herself, posing in a diamond-studded gown in her candle-lit living room.

American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the party.

"Last night I had a dream that the HOTEL cast went to Gaga's house and at midnight swam in her pool that she dyed blood red just for us," he posted.

"Wait a minute, that was no dream...THAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED."

Co-star Sarah Paulson replied to Murphy and said, "WAIT. I HAD THE SAME DREAM..."

Meanwhile, another returning star, Kathy Bates, shared her praise for Gaga.

Gaga is set to play the owner of the cursed TV hotel, while Bates runs the day-to-day business and Paulson is a permanent resident of the venue.
