Wacky warbler and provocative pop chameleon Lady Gaga graces the cover of Vanity Fair and opens up about her "occasional" dalliances with drugs, and aversion to sex.

Gaga's skin-baring shoot for the magazine (of course she's naked) sees the eccentric star looking fabulous, decked out in her favourite
new accessory - the gray granny wig - and reveals more than just her rose tattoo.

Between the covers Gaga flashes her flesh, talks about love, sex, her life hitting the skids and that notorious an oh-so-contrary Yankee Stadium business.

Gaga sets off the cathartic gum-flapping with a confession: She's "terrified of heroin" but still does "mostly cocaine."

"I won't lie; it's occasional," she says in the magazine's September issue. "And when I say occasional, I mean maybe a couple of times a year."

Rock bottom

But while she may dabble occasionally with drugs, she strongly cautions her fans, revealing that her past drug abuse was a huge "low point" in her life.

"I do not want my fans to ever emulate that or be that way. I don't want my fans to think they have to be that way to be great. It's in the past. It was a low point, and it led to disaster," she said.

Gaga - real name Stefani Germanotta - says she hit rock bottom. "I was completely mental and had just been through so much," she recalls.

"I hit rock bottom, and it was enough to send a person over the edge. My mother knew the truth about that day, and she screamed so loud on the other end of the phone, I'll never forget it. And she said, 'I'm coming to get you.'"

But instead of hauling her hiney to rehab to clean up, the singer went to her 82-year-old grandmother's house.

"I cried...I told her I thought my life was over and I have no hope and I've worked so hard, and I knew I was good. What would I do now?

"And she said, 'I'm gonna let you cry for a few more hours. And then after those few hours are up, you're gonna stop crying, you're gonna pick yourself up, you're gonna go back to New York, and you're gonna kick some a**.'"

The singer - who is back together with her ex, musician/bartender Luc Carl - also frankly discusses her relationships.

"I'm perpetually lonely. I'm lonely when I'm in relationships. It's my condition as an artist," she told the magazine.

As for romantic relationships, she added, "I'm drawn to bad romances. And my song [Bad Romance] is about whether I go after those [sort of relationships] or if they find me. I'm quite celibate now; I don't really get time to meet anyone."

She also dishes about her well-documented appearance in June at a Mets game, where she gate crashed Jerry Seinfeld's luxury box, indulged in some boobie-groping and flipped off the paparazzi.

"Of course I got drunk at Yankee Stadium," she says of her naughty "true New York 24-year-old Italian girl" and "slutty Italian girl" behaviour. But she's not sorry.

"My real fans know who I truly am, and they know what I represent and what I mean, and my music and my performance is what really speaks," she adds, denying that she groped her boobies during the game. "Why would I rub my t**s in front of Yankees? I'm not interested in dating any ballplayers."

The interview then turns to sex. She's a fan, but tries to avoid it because she fears it will negatively affect her creativity.

And here comes the golden pull-out quote from the whole shebang.

"I have this weird thing that if I sleep with someone they're going to take my creativity from me through my vagina," Gaga reveals.

If that's the case, let's hope she didn't go beyond first base with her boyf Carol while splashing in a swimming pool the other day.

So what do you think of GaDonna's latest confessional? Personally, I think it's about as shocking as a bowl of muesli. It's all part of her cleverly crafted image and unquenchable thirst to be an avant-garde envelope-pusher. Question is, can she sustain it, and are we over it already?

Justin Bieber spreads the fever...

With a memoir.

He's barely out of nappies, but Bieber has announced plans to publish a memoir.

The 16-year-old singer will release the book Justin Bieber: First Step 2 Forever: My Story in October.

And no, the Biebster won't be penning the book himself. It'll be an illustrated affair.

Fans are promised the behind-the-scenes story of his rapid rise to superstardom, and never-before-seen photos of the teen heartthrob.

"Every day I wake up and count my blessings," Bieber said. "My fans have played such a large part in all of this and they help me live my dreams every day. I'm excited to share just a little bit more of my world with them through this book.

"Between the behind-the-scenes pictures and the story I think this is going to be something they can all enjoy. This is just another way for me to say thank you to my fans."

Bless his cotton socks. Will you be buying the book?

Off the market

James Van Der Beek has announced over Twitter that he's now a married man.

The former Dawson's Creek star tweeted his followers, saying: "The woman I love did me the honor of [becoming] my wife today. I look forward to earning her for the rest of my life."

The couple are also expecting their first child together. Beek tweeted the news back in April, saying: "Yes, it's true - the woman I love and I are expecting our first child."

This is Beek's second marriage. He was previously married to Heather Ann McComb.

Congrats guys!

Definitely. Maybe. Probably

The rumour mill is in full swing over who will replace Ellen DeGeneres on American Idol.

Candidates to date include Latina Jennifer Lopez and Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler.

Tyler has told his fans that he's "probably" got a job as a judge on the show.

Speaking during a party in Las Vegas on Saturday, Tyler said of his future plans: "[I'm] recording an album and [I'm] probably going to be judge on American Idol," adding, "I'm doing it. What do you think? I'm doing it."

There's been no official statement from Fox on the rumours. My sources tell me we should find out who the replacement judges are very soon...

Ronan reunited

The once crumbling romance between Ronan Keating and wife Yvonne is back on - they've moved back in together.

The pair split in May following allegations that Keating did the dirty on his wife with dancer Francine Cornell.

Keating now tells Britain's Daily Mail: "We've been left to our own devices but we are now a happy family. It's all good, thank God."

Wedding snaps

So Alicia Keys and music producer fella Swizz Beatz got hitched in an intimate ceremony on the Mediterranean Sea over the weekend.

She wore a Grecian style Vera Wang gown, while he opted for a classic Tom Ford tuxedo.

How do I know? We have the pictures to prove it.
