TV3 is in discussions about a Kiwi version of the cut-throat reality show, which has launched the international modelling careers of dozens of young women.
Group publicity manager Jacqueline Loates confirmed the network owned the rights and was considering it but would not be drawn further.

"I can't say anything because it hasn't been confirmed but I think the programme is fantastic and it will be great if it runs. It's great that everyone is so excited about it."
The Next Top Model participants live together and compete for a prize package which includes a magazine cover shoot and spread and representation from a modelling agency.
Judging from the response at Auckland's Botany Downs shopping centre yesterday, there'll be plenty of Kiwi girls vying for the prize.
Melissa Labusehagne, 16, said she loved the show and hadn't missed a season. She had already done some modelling and would be keen to enter.
Kirstyn Ratu, 17, and Leah Darracott, 15, both thought the New Zealand version wouldn't be as bitchy as the one in America.
But Bronwyn Retief, 20, feared the New Zealand version may lack some of the glamour of its overseas counterparts.
"I think the budget would be completely different so it might not be as extravagant."
Australia's Next Top Model completed its fourth round of competition in July, and a fifth season set to air in 2009.
The American version, which is hosted by supermodel Tyra Banks, is pushing the boundaries in its 10th and latest season by choosing a transgender model.
