And Followill admitted the making of their upcoming EP worked because they were both open to new ideas.
"Coming together just worked. I think it's because we took such an easy approach to it, we didn't bring any egos to it.
"We just talked about each other's ideas. Neither one of us got our feelings hurt."
Kings of Leon have been on a hiatus since wrapping up their Australian tour last November and the Sex on Fire hitmakers have been keeping busy focusing on their personal lives.
But Jared told BBC Radio 1 that they were due to regroup to record their sixth album soon, NME.com reported.
"We've been meeting with producers every day so we're starting to get the ball rolling on album six," he said.
"I don't know what I can say, but we're definitely planning on starting the record some point in the near future."
Caleb Followill and his model wife Lily Aldridge recently became first-time parents; drummer Nathan announced in June that he and his singer spouse Jessie Baylin were expecting a baby, and Jared became engaged to his model girlfriend Martha Patterson earlier this year.
