Kimbra and Janelle Monae's tour has been cancelled.
Kimbra's tour with Janelle Monae has been cancelled and will not be rescheduled, including the show they were due to play at Auckland's Vector Arena on Saturday.
Tour promoter Live Nation confirmed the news last night on Facebook, citing Monae's "continuing illness".
The Grammy Award-winning singer failed totake the stage for the pair's first joint show in Melbourne on Saturday night, despite Kimbra performing her set, seemingly unaware the show would not continue.
Monae did not take the stage, reportedly on the advice of doctors.
The news was read out by a member of her touring party at 10.15pm, about 30 minutes after Kimbra's opening set at the Forum Theatre.
While Monae has stayed quiet on the news, Kimbra tweeted her sadness at being unable to continue the tour, wishing her fellow performer a speedy recovery:
So disappointed that we can't continue the #goldenelectrictour - we wish @JanelleMonae the speediest of recoveries. We will be back. X
