Kimbra is coming home to play free show in Auckland with iHeartRadio

After finding worldwide success and jamming with a host of famous friends in the US, Kimbra is coming home.

The Kiwi hitmaker is returning home to perform a one-off free concert thanks to iHeartRadio and KIA Motors.

Kimbra first became a household name in 2011 thanks to her duet with Gotye, Somebody That I Used to Know, which earned her two Grammy awards and sold more than 13 million copies.

Her album Vows was certified platinum in Australia and New Zealand and her follow up The Golden Echo saw her work with artists like Thundercat, John Legend, Fraser T Smith and Dave Tozer.

She even started up her own improvisation jam nights in New York, where she made on-the-spot music with her friends - the likes of Miguel, Talking Heads' David Byrne, Questlove and John Lennon's son Sean Lennon.

And now, she's bringing all that creative energy back to New Zealand, where she'll perform re-imaginings of her older songs and debut some new material.

NZME's group director of entertainment Dean Buchanan says: "Kimbra is an outstanding New Zealand talent who continues to 'wow'. We're thrilled to be bringing her back to New Zealand for a free show in Auckland.

"Since moving to New York she has collaborated with a number of amazing artists and we can't wait to have her home. The show will literally be a money-can't-buy, one-off experience."
