Kim Kardashian wanted to “taunt” the people behind her 2016 Paris robbery.

The 45-year-old star has reflected on her decision to wear diamonds as she testified in court against those involved in the terrifying heist, which she did while sporting a US$3 million ($5.24m) diamond necklace set in 18k white gold.

In a teaser for next week’s episode of The Kardashians, the celebrity and fashionista admitted she made the move to “taunt the f*** out of these losers”.

At the time of Kardashian’s testimony in May, jewellery expert Laura Taylor – who had no connection to the celebrity – weighed in on the meaning behind her accessories.

She told People magazine: “This isn’t just another public appearance, it’s the first time she has come face to face with the people who tied her up, held her at gunpoint, and stole millions worth of jewellery.

“She knew the cameras would be there, the images would be shared globally, and in typical Kim fashion, she made sure she was in control of how she was seen.”

The episode will follow Kardashian during the trial of 10 people accused of being involved in robbing her of millions of dollars’ worth of jewellery in Paris almost a decade ago.

In a trailer for the ongoing season last month, mom Kris Jenner asked her: “Do you think we really should walk in there with all the diamonds on?”

But Kardashian replied: “I want to be who I want to be.”

In May’s trial, eight defendants were convicted of various crimes connected to the incident and Kardashian previously expressed her gratitude at the verdict.

She told NBC News in a statement: “I am deeply grateful to the French authorities for pursuing justice in this case.

“The crime was the most terrifying experience of my life, leaving a lasting impact on me and my family. While I’ll never forget what happened, I believe in the power of growth and accountability and pray for healing for all. I remain committed to advocating for justice, and promoting a fair legal system.”
