Kim Kardashian transforms into the Virgin Mary for new Kimoji

Kim Kardashian has angered fans by transforming herself into the Virgin Mary for a new Kimoji.

The 36-year-old reality star unveiled the image on her Kimoji Instagram page on Thursday and her fans wasted no time in expressing their displeasure at the new emoji which they called 'disrespectful' according to Daily Mail.

Making matters worse, the colourful image is animated so it blurs in a psychedelic fashion, in honor of 420 - also known as Weed Day.

The mother-of-two didn't caption the Kimoji but simply linked to 'kimoji.com' taking users to a page offering Kim and marijuana theme merchandise.

Once there fans can purchase a Virgin Mary (Kim) candle for $18, a 'fire weed sock' for $12 or an 'ass tray' for $35.

Many Instagram users expressed their anger that the KUWTK star has used a symbol of the Catholic Church to promote herself.

'Stupid very disrespectful' wrote one follower, while another commented 'I love you Kim but this is so distespectful [sic]'

Another commenter was more direct as they wrote 'Take this down'.

One follower saw the funny side however as they commented: 'LMAO Holy Kim!!'
