Kim breaks down in tears as she hears about Kanye's breakdown

Kim Kardashian received the call telling her Kanye West was hospitalised following a mental health breakdown on the latest episode of the family's reality show.

The 36-year-old reality star, who had just arrived in New York for an event to honour her late father, received a phone call from one of Kanye's friends as she sat in the hotel with Kourtney and her mother Kris Jenner.

Kim, who had been out of the public eye since the Paris robbery, was visibly shocked as she listened to what her husband's friend had to say.

"Why? What's going on?" she asked, open mouthed. Breaking down in tears she asked: "What's wrong? Don't scare me, please. What's going on?"

Sobbing as her sister and mother watched, she added: "I can't," before the episode ended and declared it was "to be continued".

Earlier in the episode, fans saw Kim venturing out for the first time since the robbery to Kanye's show at The Forum in Los Angeles.

She told her mother: "I don't have any energy to put on clothes or make up," before greeting family and friends including singer Katy Perry.

Katy, who hugged Kim and asked how she was, told Kris: "Everything is a lesson. Every relationship is a lesson, every experience, every trauma is a lesson."

Kris replied: "She's so strong and she can get through this. She teaches me something every day."

Kim, however, was clearly uncomfortable at the event and returned to the backstage area after watching just a few songs.

She explained: "Feeling the vibe of the crowd, I'm really nervous. I now think everyone has a weapon or everyone is going to do something harmful. I just now have this anxiety. I just want to disappear for a little bit."
