There are many reasons you should watch Killing Eve when it kicks off on New Zealand screens tonight.
For one, it's a dark comedy-drama from the mind of Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who you might know from her hilariously off-beat comedy Fleabag. She's adapted a novel written by Luke Jennings.
Secondly, it stars Grey's Anatomy favourite Sandra Oh, who plays an MI5 security officer called Eve (Sandra Oh) who's trying to track an international assassin called Villanelle.
But the main reason you should watch it are the rave reviews the show's had since it's launch in the UK.
"This is delicious, instantly addictive television. ... Even though it's easy to see the outline of the road ahead, there are more than enough swerves to keep this season unpredictable and full of suspense," said New York Magazine.
Collider agreed, calling Killing Eve "a spy story, a murder mystery, a spellbinding character drama, and a gloriously wicked comedy".
"It all comes together to make one of the year's most delightful and captivating series that will hopefully play on for many seasons to come."
And Reason.com declared: "Alternating effortlessly between weirdly funny and chillingly tense, Killing Eve is the utterly endearing love child of oddball British novelist Luke Jennings and Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who writes and stars in the eccentric Brit television comedy Fleabag."
It has an overwhelmingly positive review aggregate of 83 per cent on Metacritic.
But viewers have taken to Twitter to declare their love for the show too.
Killing Eve has already been renewed for a second season. It airs here on TVNZ on Demand, starting today at 6pm.
