Kesha has postponed her Australia/New Zealand tour dates due to an ACL tear in her knee.
The pop star sustained the injury after a fall during a concert in Dubai on February 9. She is due for surgery today, aiming to begin rehabilitation as soon as possible.
Moving these dates is making me sick with sadness, but I tried to will this injury away and unfortunately it didn't work.
Kesha was scheduledto play Auckland's Trusts Arena on Monday, April 2.
"It's my biggest joy in life to share my music with my fans all over the world, but I have to follow my doctor's orders and undergo surgery so I can get ready to give it my all on my summer tour and beyond," said Kesha in a press release.
"Moving these dates is making me sick with sadness, but I tried to will this injury away and unfortunately it didn't work.
"I love you all and I'll work every single day, as hard as I can, to recover and get back on stage as soon as possible. I'm so sorry and sending love always."
Tour promoters are encouraging those who have purchased tickets to hold on to them and wait to hear about rescheduled dates. Existing tickets will be valid for the new dates.
Kesha is touring her newest album Rainbow, which received acclaim from critics.
